HISTORY

Established in 1983, The Maritime Training Center of the Philippines, Inc. (TMTCP) is an educational institution  to train Filipino seafarers to exercise efficiency in  operation and safety in navigation for national fleets and  foreign ships. TMTCP organizes, maintains and conducts  training for basic, advance safety and other courses in  accordance with the IMO* and STCW**.

TMTCP prides itself on being a stalwart in the field of maritime education, subscribing only to the highest  qualities and skills expected by the ship owners the  world over. Managed and operated by a team of seasoned  marine officers, the center helps shape Filipino seafarers  who are able and ready to perform the duties and  responsibilities required onboard ships.

Quality training is guaranteed at TMTCP through:
  1. Conformance. We comply with the requirements of the IMO and the MARINA*** in developing the modules for the maritime training courses.
  2. Diligence. We continue to upgrade the proficiency of our instructors, assessors and our academic staff.
  3. Maintenance. We keep our training facilities and equipment up to date with any technical developments.

ACCREDITATIONS
TMTCP works in conjunction and cooperation with these accredited organizations, allowing for the professionalization, standardization, protection, and constant improvement of the maritime industry in the Philippines.
The Maritime Industry Authority has been designated by the Executive Order No. 75, series of 2012, as the single administration in the Philippines responsible for the oversight in the implementation of the International Convention on the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) for seafarers.
The Philippine Regulation Commission is responsible for the administration, implementation and enforcement of regulatory policies on the regulation and licensing of various professions and occupations under its jurisdiction.
The Association of Maritime Education and Training Institutions in Asia-Pacific is a regional association of maritime training institutions to support the objectives of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), to foster cross-border co-operation and to improve the quality of maritime training and education.
The Philippine Association of Maritime Centers, Inc. is the largest network of maritime training centers in the Philippines, wherein it promotes the interest of its members through various programs and activities in the areas of training and research, resource sharing and meaningful exchange of knowledge and information.
